Search engine optimization
When you first purchased your ChoiceMall certificates search engine submissions were imperative. Over time the rules have changed. While there are still places you may submit your site it is not how the larger engines have been ranking sites since 2001.
We like to focus on the content. Make it strong, make it simple and to the point. Make sure you understand your target audience and speak directly to them. Make use of keywords, but make sure it stays relevant to the topic. Keyword stuffing will do more harm than good.
Title (Approximately 55-75 characters)
Your title will show up in two places.
- As the first line on a Search Engine Results Page (SERP)
- In the browser tab
Examples:

Description (Approximately 125-160 characters)
This shows up on the SERP. Use rich text that describes what a visitor can expect to find if they click on the link.
Example:

Keywords
Keywords used to be a META tag web crawlers used to help index websites. However, web crawlers have become much more sophisticated and do not need to use them any longer. We do not recommend spending time on keywords for your site. If you already have them, we can use them, otherwise move on.
Instead we suggest using your keywords in rich text within your website. Search engines now look at the content of the site and rank its relativity to a search query. By providing text that utilizes related keywords will help your search enging results. Make sure there are no spelling errors and the text is relevant to the page.
Multi-page website
If you are combining your ChoiceMall pages into a multi-page site, or are utilizing the Qcomemrce Exclusive Hosting Rates, you will want to have a unique title, description and text for each page.
Page names
If you have a multi-page website every page needs a name. It is recommended you use a keyword(s) to describe the content on the page. If you are using two keywords, we seperate the words with a hyphen. For example if you are selling rocking chairs you want the page name not to be chairs.html or even rockingchairs.html, but rocking-chairs.html. This will help the web crawlers understand the content on the page.
Shorter is better for the user. If the user wants to copy and share the URL, it will be easier to have the short URL. Let's say your page has a title of "The Ultimate Guide for Skiing North America." The page name can extract the keywords to shorten the URL, such as: /skiing-north-americal.html.
Example:

Simplicity
Simplicity of a page helps web crawlers. Use of submission forms, javascripts, flash, iframes and other plug-ins does not allow the web crawlers to get sufficient information for the page to be indexed. If you have a page you want to be ranked with the search engines keep the page simple.
Sitemap
If you have a multi-page site an XML sitemap can be created for web crawlers to index the entire site quickly and easily.
