Offline Marketing Tips
Promoting your Web site doesn't end with Internet marketing. There are a number of other cost-effective ways to build awareness about your site.
Business Print Materials
Include Your Web Site Address on your letterhead, business cards, brochures and marketing literature.
Include Web Site Address in Display Advertising
We don't recommend discontinuing print advertising you've found to be effective, however when you do place an ad, be sure to include your Web site address. This includes trade journals, newspapers, etc. View your Web site as additional information adjunct to the ad. Catch readers' attention with the ad, and then refer them to your Web page where they can obtain more information or place an order.
Use Traditional Promotional Media
You may decide to use traditional media such as direct mail, classifieds, display ads, etc. to drive people to your site. This can be especially helpful in smaller industry niches.
Low-cost advertisements
Non-profit organizations often have print newspapers, newsletters, year books, etc. Find an organization who matches your demographic and see if they have opportunties to advertise with them.
Press Release
Send out a press release to let the world know you're online. It's a good idea to target trade publications, newspapers (national and local). If you receive a newsletter from a group or organization with which you are associated, send them one also. Every time you do something new on your Web site (like holding a contest), send out a press release.
Word of Mouth
Get the Word Out Write letters to your current customers thanking them for their support and business and invite them to visit your site. The holidays are a perfect time for a special letter to your customers!
